Iran-Armenia film ‘Yeva’ to be screened at Tbilisi filmfest

The Tbilisi Int'l Film Festival is to host Iran-Armenia film ‘Yeva’ by Anahid Abad.

The 18th Tbilisi International Film Festival has been set to host Iran-Armenia film ‘Yeva’ directed by Anahid Abad.

The 99-minute long film will be screened at the European forum section of the Georgian event.

The flick stars many recognized actors and actresses from Armenia such as Narine Grigoryan and Shant Hovhannisyan.

The movie is also set to apply for a slot at the latest edition of the Cannes Film Festival in France.

‘Yeva’, a woman who is under prosecution in connection with her husband’s murder, faces challenges in her life, the movie synopsis read.

The Farabi Cinema Foundation, based in Iran, represents worldwide rights for the movie.

The Tbilisi International Film Festival was first held in 2000 within a larger art festival framework which had numerous supporters and sponsors.

The 18th edition of the festival slated for December 4-10, 2017, is currently underway in Georgia.
